Thermoformable films for packaging
Thanks to its different formulations, Alfatherm offers films for a wide range of packaging solutions to be used in the following main sectors:rays for food applications, blisters for cosmetics, technical blister packs, general consumer blister pack.
The packaging division films are generally thermoformed in order to obtain trays and blisters.
Over the last years, thanks to a strong technological drive and to major investments, Alfatherm developed the sector of fresh food packaging PVC/PE (Peelable or Sealable) and PVC/EVOH/PE (Barrier) laminated films.
One of its special films developed is resistant to high temperatures and is particularly suitable to be used on Form-Fill and Seal thermoforming machines, where film is filled with hot material as jam, sauces or melted cheese. A type of lacquered film for hot sealing is also produced, which is generally used as a “retroblister” for closing thermoformed blisters.
All products are formulated to fulfil standards and regulations of the specific application sector.

Food packaging
PVC-PE and PVC-EVOH-PE multilayer films for thermoforming are produced with solvent free process and are the right solution to foodstuffs packaging. All contact food films are produced with selected high-quality row materials complying with existing international regulations for foodstuffs packaging. Therefore, conformity certifications can be granted.
In addition to standard products, special formulation can be developed on specific customer request. Film thicknesses and PE layer technical features can be also modified on request.
Film PVC-PE available in transparent and in a wide range of colours. In the food packaging application this film is widely used due to its high gas and water vapour barrier characteristics, preserving food freshness for up to many days.

Film PVC-EVOH-PE barrier suitable to pack long shelf-life foodstuffs in modified atmosphere. Film available in transparent and in a wide range of colours. Besides PVC/PE standard properties, PVC-EVOH-PE film allows modified atmosphere packaging also without using preservatives and antioxidants, by increasing considerably products shelf-life.

Film PVC thermoresistent TR1/Tr2 and MG specifically developed to form mono-dose packs and trays filled-in with hot material and sealed directly on (FFS: Form-Fill-Seal) machines. It is available in 3 versions, studied on the basis of the Vicat degrees of processing, established by the needs of the customers.

General consumer blister pack
Transparent and coloured films, particularly suitable to thermoform blister packs for technical products or general holders and expositors.
Films with controlled dimensional stability characteristics are also available, particularly suitable in more complicated thermoforming processes, with high surface or deep drawing. The range is completed by metallised gold and silver films, or in other basic colours, and by the thermo-lacquered film to seal blisters.
